A national top ten tells you what is popular in your country this week. It has never met you. Neither has the row that appears because you finished something three months ago and never went back. The more people share a profile, the further the recommendations drift from anyone in particular.
What’s My Next keeps a separate taste profile for each of you, built from what you swipe rather than from whatever happened to be left running. When you watch together you both swipe, and it shows you only the titles you both said yes to. Nobody gives in, and nobody sits through something they never wanted.
